What I Do and How to Reach Me
A little bit about what I do for the University Library:
I am the Coordinator of Public Services, which means I oversee the
services which directly serve our patrons and help address concerns and
issues in those areas. I am also, of course, a reference librarian, so
I "do" reference, which means
I assist people - students, faculty, staff, community, whomever - with
research. I also serve as a liaison to several departments, but more on
that below.
Liaison
I also serve as a liaison to select departments on
campus (these have changed since Fall 2011, so look carefully):
In my capacity as a liaison, I do several things:
- Conduct library instruction sessions
- Help design meaningful research assignments
- Create and maintain online subject guides
- Receive and process purchase recommendations
Other Duties
Other things I do as a librarian: serve on campus and professional
committees; conduct and publish scholarly research; participate
and present at conferences; participate and present
workshops; I
volunteer with various organizations (such as Destination Imagination);
and special projects as they crop up, like creating displays for the
Library's rotating display. I keep pretty busy, obviously! You can take a look at my CV for more detailed info here.
