 My job:

I provide academic and administrative support for all Windows desktop operating systems from Windows 3.1 to the newest Microsoft o.s., Windows XP, and the Microsoft Office suite of applications. Another one of my primary functions in the computing center  is to manage and support Windows 2000, and Windows 2003 servers for academic and administrative groups, as well as a Microsoft Exchange e-mail server for the president, his cabinet members, and all of their support staff. I also provide technical support for Mac users, and troubleshoot miscellaneous network, and printer problems. If you have a question or problem that I don't have an answer for, surfing the net will usually give me several ideas to try to fix your specific problem. Please do not hesitate to call me if you have a computer, software, network, or printer problem.

  Work experience and training:

I was previously employed by Steel Fabricators, a local company that has produced  fabricated steel for projects in the US and foreign countries, for 18 years. The last 10 years as an employee of  Steel Fab, I quickly picked up on the Windows operating system and gained vast knowledge in troubleshooting hardware and software problems. My primary task at Steel Fabricators was to administer a Novell network for 30 or so clients with  multiple laserjet printers, and a Xerox high volume printing system. I also  did all internet, virus, and software troubleshooting as well as maintained several pieces of computerized shop equipment, while being employed at Steel Fab.  As for training, I have attended 2-5 day classes on Windows 98, Windows 2000 Server, Windows 2003 Exchange Server, and Microsoft's' Active Directory Infrastructure and DNS.
