High School Essay Contest: “Free Expression and the First Amendment”
All high school students in Ouachita and Lincoln parishes are encouraged to enter the “Free Expression and the First Amendment” essay contest to commemorate the 225th anniversary of the United States Constitution.
Sponsored by the University of Louisiana at Monroe Department of Communication, the “Free Expression and the First Amendment” essay contest will award $500 for the first prize, $300 for second, and $100 for third. There are two honorable mentions at $50 each.
All entrants and their families are invited to attend a reception on Tuesday, September 25, on the ULM campus to recognize the participants.
As part of the observance of the 225th anniversary of the U.S. Constitution, ULM's Department of Communication is also pleased to welcome Mr. Ken Paulson, president and CEO of the First Amendment Center, who will deliver the keynote speech at the reception.
