Reorganization and Evaluation Mission

In the fall of 2005, the University underwent an academic reorganization. Some of the changes included centralized copy centers and the reassignment and/or elimination of some secretarial and other staff positions. Academic department heads were given nine-month rather than twelve-month appointments and were not required to keep departmental offices open all day.

As a University, our goal is always to make improvements, and the Reorganization and Evaluation Committee has been charged with reviewing the changes with the goal of identifying which aspects of the plan are working and which need improvement.

This web site will serve to keep ULM's faculty and staff informed of the ongoing evaluation process, with meeting minutes, a list of current committee members, a survey (currently under development) and a link to the Office of Academic Affairs and the Provost's office, which has been charged by President Cofer with evaluating the re-organization.

Please feel free to send us your comments. You may contact the chair of this committee, Dr. Ruth Smith, at (318) 342-1526 or at rusmith@ulm.edu with any questions or concerns.
