Huei-En Hsu holds the Bachelor of Arts degree in Piano Performance from Fu-Jen Catholic University in Taipei, Taiwan, and the Master of Music and Doctor of Musical Arts (ABD) degrees in Piano Performance from The Ohio State University. The Taiwanese-born pianist is quickly gaining an outstanding reputation as a collaborative keyboard artist. A frequent performer in many venues, Hsu began her career as a concert solo pianist. Her devotion in bringing her solo keyboard technique into collaborative music venues has been widely recognized. Her expertise and experience in solo concert repertoire, song literature, chamber music, and opera has placed her in high demand as an accompanist, coach and faculty colleague. Recent collaborative performing highlights include the Festival of Jewish Chamber Music sponsored by the Melton Center performing with The Ohio State University faculty; "Emily Dickinson Series Vocal Recital" at The Ohio State University; and The OSU Opera Music Theatre Program, including performances of Candide, A Little Night Music, Little Women, and Cradle Will Rock. Awards and honors include the Concerto Competition winner, The Ohio State University Symphony Orchestra, performing Beethoven's Piano Concerto No. 1 in C Major, and the Outstanding Graduate Teaching Associate from The Ohio State University in 2002 and 2003. |
