She began instructing at the ULM School of Nursing in January of 2005, teaching beginning medical-surgical and pediatrics. Currently, her primary focus of instruction is in Level II, which is beginning medical-surgical nursing. She serves as co-chair of the Assessment and Evaluation Committee within the School of Nursing. Under a Susan G. Komen grant, she has worked with several faculty and the ULM nursing students to provide education on breast health and self breast examination to adolescents in northeast Louisiana. She is a member of Sigma Theta Tau International and the Lambda Mu chapter of STT. She serves as one of the faculty advisers for the ULM Student Nurse Association and is working to achieve certification as a nurse educator. She is a graduate of the ULM School of Nursing (1993). In 2006, she completed her master's degree in nursing from the University of Phoenix with a focus in healthcare education. As a nurse, she has had the opportunity to practice in hemodialysis, pediatrics, medical-surgical, and IV therapy, with many of those years spent at Glenwood Regional Medical Center. About the Endowment: The Glenwood Regional Medical Center Professorship in Nursing endowment was established to encourage and reward excellence in teaching, learning and research at ULM. |
