Dr. Gibson is a graduate of the ULM School of Nursing and has completed graduate degrees from the University of Mississippi and ULM. In her career she has held a variety of positions in the clinical and academic arena. Dr. Gibson has conducted research on indigent populations and their perceptions of barriers to health care access, adolescent development and professional perceptions of members of the health care team. In addition she has presented numerous presentations to professional and community groups. She has participated in more than 30 professional publications in the form of manuscripts and reviews. Dr. Gibson has a reputation of community service. She is active with the Witness Project of Northeast Louisiana, a breast cancer support and education group for African American women. She is also involved with the American Heart Association and advocacy groups for mental health care. ABOUT THE DONOR: Additionally, the holder is expected to represent the university in service, research and scholarly activity events. About the Endowment: The Glenwood Regional Medical Center Professorship in Nursing (B) endowment was established to encourage and reward excellence in teaching, learning and research at ULM. |
