Dr. Aleccia HibbitsDR. ALECCIA HIBBITS is the holder of the Hood/DeFatta Professorship in Accounting and is an assistant professor of accounting.
 
Hibbets achieved her Ph.D. in accounting from the University of Alabama in 2006; she achieved her bachelor’s in business administration in accounting from ULM in 1999.
 
She has numerous national professional memberships, including the American Accounting Association, the Institute of Management Accountants, the Institute of Internal Auditors, the Phi Kappa Phi Honorary Fraternity, the Beta Alpha Psi Honorary Accounting Fraternity, and the Beta Gamma Sigma Business Honorary Fraternity.
 
Hibbets has produced diverse research/writing presentations, presented continuing education classes and workshops, and attended several conferences. Her published intellectual contributions include considerable refereed journal articles. Among the awards and honors she has received are: the CBA Summer Research Grant (2007); “Most Likely to be Mistaken for a Student” (Beta Gamma Sigma Student Awards in 2004); and the “Frederic Augustin Brett Memorial Endowed Scholarship” (The University of Alabama in 2003).
 
She contributes her service to copious organizations and committees on college, departmental, student organization, and university levels while presiding in such positions as guest speaker, facilitator, conference reviewer, conference discussant, and committee member in professional and public/community venues.


About the Endowment: 

The Hood/DeFatta Professorship in Accounting endowment was established to encourage and reward excellence in teaching, learning and research at ULM.
