The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office recently awarded Dr. Girish Shah, holder of the Mary E. and Darrell L. Calhoun Chair in Pharmacology, a patent for his invention of a biomarker for prostate cancer that may eventually become a new screening tool for physicians everywhere.

STUDENTS FIRST - It was another history making moment on June 26 for the University of Louisiana at Monroe as ULM sophomore Kelsi Crain was crowned Miss Louisiana 2010 by Miss Louisiana 2009 Katherine Putnam, a ULM senior, at the Monroe Civic Center.
