ULM's Management Program is designed to prepare you for a challenging career in the management field. Managers are an organization's leaders and must make key decisions, solve problems, and manage resources. Early on, you will take courses in English and speech to improve your written and oral communication skills. In your second year, you will take accounting and finance courses, which provide the tools by which the condition of a business and the success of its ongoing operations are measured. Finally, you will take courses designed to improve your quantitative skills and provide you with the foundation for problem analysis and effective decision making.
The Management Program at ULM has been carefully structured to provide students with knowledge that balances their need for general education with their need for more specialized professional education. Students are given the opportunity for hands-on experience in the management field through the College and the University's Internship Program, which gives students a chance to meet and work with local managers, gain vital work experience, develop their managerial skills, and make important contacts for future jobs.
The University of Louisiana at Monroe College of Business Administration is accredited by AACSB International (The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business) at both the undergraduate and the graduate (MBA) level.
ULM's Management faculty is skilled in theory and practice. They teach their courses with a pragmatic and applied orientation, often actively involving students in area businesses to tackle and solve complex management problems.
The Management program at ULM permits flexibility in career choice and helps students qualify for positions in all types of organizations. Managers are needed in government, business, and non-profit organizations, and in positions such as first-line supervision, administration, production and operations management, human resource management, purchasing management, and small business management.
