What Is Blackboard?

Blackboard is a browser-based learning management system (LMS). Using an LMS, your instructors can provide course content in electronic format and hyperlinks to resources found on the Internet. Homework assignments, quizzes, and tests can be provided through the LMS, and your work can be sent to your instructor via LMS. You can check your grades, send messages to your classmates, and post messages on the course discussion boards.

Of course, each instructor might choose a different combination of LMS features for use in his or her courses. Check your course syllabus to find out which features are used in your class.

Step-By-Step Instructions

The following streaming videos were created with Tegrity. Many recent-model computers should have no problems with Tegrity's requirements. In general, a Windows computer will need Java and Internet Explorer with Windows Media Player; a Macintosh computer should have Mac OS X, Java, and QuickTime and use Safari for best results.
