MASTER OF SCIENCE IN COUNSELING WITH A CONCENTRATION IN CLINICAL MENTAL HEALTH COUNSELING: - Transitioning to 100% Online!

The mission of the counseling program is to create a supportive and collaborative learning environment for students from diverse backgrounds and cultures to acquire knowledge, attitudes, and skills essential in the practice of counseling; to prepare students to become highly skilled to provide supportive, educational, and counseling services to individuals from diverse backgrounds in a wide variety of settings, including agencies and K-12 schools; to contribute to the knowledge in human services and counseling through scholarly contributions of faculty members and students; and to provide service to the human services and counseling professions, the community, ULM, and humanity.

Upon completion of this 60 hour M.S. degree in Counseling, you will be eligible for licensure through the Licensed Professional Counseling Board.

All applicants for the M.S. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling program are expected to meet the admission requirements of the requirements of the Graduate School and the requirements of the Clinical Mental Health Counseling Program. These program requirements consist of an application package, supporting information and letters of reference. The specific minimum GPAs and GRE scores are listed in the Graduate Catalog.

The School Counseling program (M.S.), the Clinical Mental Health Counseling program (M.S.), and the Marriage and Family Therapy Program (M.A.) are accredited by the Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP).
