The Department of Curriculum and Instruction is dedicated to preparing exemplary teachers through undergraduate academic degree programs in areas of elementary education and in selected content areas at the secondary level.

With 15 different undergraduate teaching degrees to select from, as well as a national shortage of certified teachers, our graduates find ample opportunities for employment. All graduates of this program are fully certified to teach in the State of Louisiana in public or private schools.

Kinesiology

KinesiologyKinesiology is the in-dept study of all aspects of physical fitness, sports and wellness, as well as health and physical education teacher training and training of future coaches and sports administrators.  Professionals use the science of biomechanics, anatomy, physiology, and motor learning to assess movement, performance and function of the body.

High quality standards set by the Department of Kinesiology ensure that students meet eligibility requirements, excel in their studies and maintain a ā€œCā€ or above average in the Kinesiology classes.  Employers recognize the merit and potential our graduates have to offer.

Psychology
Expanding Knowledge...Exploring the Mind

studentsPsychology is the scientific study of behavior, both animal and human.  It is a very broad and diverse discipline that ranges from studies between brain function to behavior.  Psychologists apply the scientific method and research techniques to increase our understanding of behavior.  Their research examines both normal and abnormal behavior and treats emotional and mental problems. 

Learn to possess the skills to collect, analyze and interpret data, and gain experience in statistics and experimental design in order to meet the needs of employers.
