In this time of high-stakes testing and accountability, it is important that teachers be able to create positive environments that are conducive to learning. Many new, as well as, experienced teachers find that classroom management can be the most challenging part of teaching. The purpose of this three-part module is to provide teachers with strategies designed to improve the teaching and learning process in an effort to enhance the learning experience.
Part I focuses on managing behavior. The practice activities in this section are designed to provide ideas and strategies for maintaining order and providing structure in the classroom.
Part II focuses on managing and organizing the classroom. Explore and review strategies that help systematically organize, structure, and manage the learning environment.
Part III focuses on managing instruction. Examine practices of effective teachers in the areas of planning, lesson delivery, and accommodations. Get tips on how to prepare meaningful lessons with varied activities that encourage interactive learning.
Included in each part of the module are activities designed to guide your thinking process of how to effectively manage a classroom. Powerpoint presentations are included in each section. These presentations provide additional information and suggestions for managing your classroom. |
