Dean of Students (5073)

The Dean of Students will report to the Vice President for Student Affairs, will serve as a liaison on all student-related matters, including but not limited to Title IX.

This position is a professional staff, unclassified position and requires evening and weekend work. The Dean of Students serves as the will of the Board of Supervisors and reports directly to the Vice President for Student Affairs. This position is a professional staff, unclassified position.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for the organization and daily operations for the Office of Student Services in order to effectively and professionally carry out the assigned missions and responsibilities within the University community and in keeping with state and federal regulations. Assist and participate in student recruitment programs and retention plan initiatives to maximize student enrollment and satisfaction with the University. Provide training on student issues that affect Title IX, Clery Act, FERPA, etc.

Direct and provide leadership through teamwork to assist unit managers to improve services to students, faculty and staff. Develops and implements personnel programs involving recruiting, interviewing, hiring, training, assigning and evaluating Student Services professionals, clerical, and student employees with emphasis on Student Union Services and programs.

Establish and review policies and procedures for the most effective and efficient operation of the departments. Provide leadership in promoting exceptional awareness for all students of the Code of Student Conduct and the Student Policy Manual. Provide on an annual basis to the domestic and international student populations annual medical insurance coverage.

Assist the Director of Student Life and Leadership with programming functions to enhance student satisfaction and efficiencies in operations. Oversee operations of the Student Union Building and Student Center and work cooperatively with the Facilities Coordinator.

Work closely with the Vice President for Student Affairs on all student matters and stand in for the VPSA when needed. Work cooperatively with all units within the university structure to promote positive changes for student retention and graduation.

Reviews unit budgets with assigned Directors to ensure timely deposits are made with appropriate lines and all cash handling procedures are followed and that each unit has a policy and procedure manual. Provide an annual report at the end of each academic year.

Supervises the Director of Student Services, Student Health Services, Counseling Center, Student Union Services, as well as other office staff and contracted custodial services.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
• Masters Degree in Education, Administration, and Supervision, Student Personnel Services, Counseling, or related field.
• A minimum of seven years’ experience in higher education.
• A demonstrated record of leadership, supervisory, and administrative skills.
• Prior responsibility for financial control of operating budget.

The University of Louisiana Monroe (ULM) invites applications for its Director of Athletics position. This position offers the opportunity to lead the athletics program at ULM, a member of the University of Louisiana System.

Founded in 1931, the University of Louisiana at Monroe is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. We presently employ a workforce of 952 faculty and staff and a student body of approximately 7,843 students, including 948 graduate students.

ULM sponsors 17 NCAA Division I varsity sports programs (7 men, and 10 women) and is a member of the FBS Sun Belt Conference. Over 350 student - athletes participate on Warhawks athletics teams.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The University seeks an experienced, energetic, and innovative leader that is charged with overall management of these programs and oversees budgets, personnel, planning, fund-raising, marketing, contract negotiations, and sports facilities. The director must also ensure strict compliance with regulations governing intercollegiate athletics in accordance with institutional, conference and NCAA guidelines. State Director, Louisiana Small Business Development Center (5085)

The State Director’s Office is located in the College of Business at the University of Louisiana at Monroe. The State Director in the Lead Center reports to the Dean of the College of Business and is responsible for the administration of all aspects of statewide program operations. In carrying out this responsibility, the State Director works closely with the Lead Center staff, the Center Directors and other personnel of the various subcontracted Louisiana SBDC service providers; various administration, faculty, and staff of the University of Louisiana at Monroe; district, region, and central office representatives of the U.S Small Business Administration; the executive committee of the National Association of Small Business Development Centers; other state directors of SBDC’s throughout the nation; financial representatives and Deans of colleges or universities affiliated with the Louisiana SBDC; federal, state and local politicians and officials; other federal, state, and local business assistance and economic development programs; the news media; and the private sector.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
In general, the responsibilities of the State Director’s Office include:
• establishing policy governing the operation of the system;
• developing proposals for statewide and specialized activities;
• negotiating contracts with funding agencies;
• submitting funding proposals to state and federal agencies;
• representing the interests of the consortium members in the federal, state and local arenas;
• resolving conflicts within the system when they arise;

The State Director has the responsibility to:
• promote the services and impact of the Louisiana SBDC Network to key stakeholders;
• develop/revise and distribute all network-wide marketing materials including program website, economic impact fact sheets, brochures, calendar of events, success stories, annual reports, etc.;
• ensure oversight of state office and center office personnel;
• coordinate and publish the semi-annual and annual reports to SBA;
• create/strengthen relationships with other statewide and regional economic development, professional and membership organizations;
• engage in the development of relevant statewide/regional economic development activities through participating in relevant statewide and community organizations, groups, associations, etc., and attend events involving economic development planning;
• maintain positive relationships with partnering universities and colleges;
• foster effective intra-network communications through establishment and maintenance of regular communication, staff visits to centers, issuance of timely and useful notices on the MIS system, maintaining and updating the staff directories as required, etc.;
• educate and establish relationships with elected officials and staff at the state and federal level on services and impact to obtain sufficient operating resources;
• engage in relevant economic development activities in the state by participating in pertinent economic development meetings and networking with community leaders, bankers, etc.;
• coordinate disaster response and recovery for small businesses after disasters;
• develop partnerships with economic and business associations and organizations as a source of client referrals and co-sponsorship of seminars.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Required Qualifications:
• Master’s degree from a regionally accredited university with significant course work in business or public administration

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
• Bachelor's degree required, master’s degree preferred. One or both awarded from ULM preferred;
• Experience working in alumni affairs or in a related area including management of a non-profit member organization, corporate relations, and/or marketing and sales is preferred; experience with an electronic database for developing involvement and friend-making is a plus;
• Familiarity with the University of Louisiana at Monroe;

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Education Reporter/Producer is a key person for the Southern Education Desk (SED), a Local Journalism Center (LJC) in the South that creates essential multimedia, multi-platform content on the topic of education. The position is based in Monroe, LA but has responsibilities for reporting around northeast Louisiana. This exciting, collaborative reporting project is aimed at examining the subject of education from both a policy and personal perspective. The Education Reporter/Producer for the Southern Regional Education Desk is initially funded by a grant from the Corporation for Public Broadcasting.

1. Reports, writes and produces news content, periodic segments, interviews, feature reports, web content, programs and other materials on the topic of education in Louisiana and the southern United States for radio, television and the web.
2. Performs research on individuals, stories, or subjects to collect in-depth background, details, and information prior to interviews or writing pieces.
3. Writes and edits multimedia segments for Southern Education Desk.
4. Creates content for social media outlets; compiles and creates final mix of discussions, sounds, or information to be used in production of assignment.
5. Utilizes research and interviews to produce accurate, detailed, and timely broadcast material; ensures accuracy and quality of produced content.
6. Responsible for producing and communicating such segments, interviews, and programs to listeners by announcing or hosting on-air broadcasts.
7. Stays abreast of local, state, national, and international education issues; reads trade magazines, reference materials, newspapers, and on-line information.
8. Some travel required.
9. Participates in station fundraising as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
1. Bachelor's degree in Broadcast Communications, Journalism, Media Arts, or related field required;

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
To participate in the installation, maintenance, and administration of complex systems, software and related packages.

REPORTS TO: Enterprise Systems & Security Manager
Technology Support Manager

• Assists in the operation of centralized Microsoft Server Operating Systems related to applications that revolve around the Campus-wide technology resources. This includes server installation and patch management.
• Work with 3rd party application vendors for hardware sizing for new applications as well as application support for current purchased applications.
• Monitors the campus network and related application servers to assure proper performance and security of these resources via firewalls, email servers, etc.
• Closely advised by support staff and works with users to determine the most effective use of resources to meet ULM’s needs. Recommends procedures to enhance use of computing resources and documents systems procedures.
• Assists the ESSM in determining priorities and methods to meet user needs.
• Maintains awareness of software and hardware offerings.
• Assists the Computing Center staff and other committees in reviewing, evaluating and recommending the use of software and hardware products to augment or enhance the capabilities and performance of the systems.
• Provides management of Microsoft OS servers, VMware Virtualization, SAN, and Firewalls.
• Performs other duties as required

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
Candidate must have detailed working knowledge of Microsoft Server/Desktop OS, VMware (or similar virtualization). Working knowledge of Unix server environments (ex: Solaris, Redhat, HP-UX, AIX, etc) is important but not required. Proficient in shell scripting such as bash & Perl, VMware (or similar virtualization concepts). Full working knowledge of TCP/IP networks. Working knowledge of Enterprise Firewalls, DNS, and DHCP. Microsoft SQL, MySQL database knowledge preferred along w/ SQL scripting. Microsoft Active Directory & policy management. Work well with others on team projects. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Director of Compliance will:

• Serve as Liaison between the Department of Athletics and the Office of the Registrar, the Office of Recruitment & Admissions and the Office of Financial Aid.
• Act as the University’s primary contact for the NCAA Eligibility Center.
• Administer the annual coaching certification exam.
• Input data and complete squad lists for all sports.
• Monitor and approve official visits.
• Coordinate the National Letter of Intent, the distribution of athletics aid and monitor awarding of additional financial aid.
• Monitor employment of student-athletes.
• Monitor camps and clinics conducted by coaching staff.
• Develop and distribute educational materials to athletic department staff, boosters, student-athletes and entities outside the Department of Athletics.
• Research and provide rules interpretations.
• Collect data and complete all requests for compliance related information by the University, Sun Belt Conference and the NCAA.
• Assist in the investigation of alleged rules violations and report findings to the Director of Athletics, the Faculty Athletics Representative, the President, the Sun Belt Conference and the NCAA.
• Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
Bachelor’s degree in related field required. Master’s preferred. Familiarity with NCAA Division I rules and regulations and excellent communication skills required. Experience with Compliance Assistant (CA), NCAA LSDBi, Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel preferred.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for coordination of all aspects of ULM’s Intramural Sports/Recreation Program. The purpose of ULM Intramurals is to provide a comprehensive quality program of recreational activities which are designed to meet the interests and needs of all students, regardless of ability or skill level.

The Coordinator of Intramurals develops, facilitates, markets, supervises, delivers and evaluates the Intramural and Extramural Sports/Recreation Programs for the University community. Coordinates the use of appropriate facilities with the Director of Recreational Services and any other necessary individuals.

Hires, trains, supervises and evaluates graduate assistants, student assistants, student staff and any professional personnel associated with the Intramural Program. Oversees the recruiting, training, scheduling, supervision and evaluation of all student staff officials, scorekeepers, and other recreational sports personnel needed to develop a well-rounded program.

Responsible for policy development, budget preparation, and equipment/supply purchases related to the Intramural Program. Maintains accurate record of participation for all Intramural events/activities. Facilitates participant evaluation of Intramural events. Oversees and is responsible for the handling of any funds received following all university cash/fund handling protocols including receipt writing, chain of custody of funds, daily deposits etc.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Master’s Degree in Recreation, Physical Education or related field (preferred). Three to five years successful experience in the organization and administration of collegiate Intramural/Recreational Sports Programs. Demonstrated competency in program development, supervisory experience, fiscal management and other administrative areas.

Detailed knowledge of sports officiating to include training clinics, evaluation systems, facility preparation and mechanics related to major sport activities. Demonstrates excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to interact professionally with students, faculty/staff and community members. Computer literacy required, must be able to use word processing, spreadsheet and scheduling applications
