This award is presented each year by the Chemical Rubber Company to the outstanding Freshman Chemistry student of ULM. Students are nominated by ULM's Freshman Chemistry instructors and are given an American Chemical Society standardized exam. The student who scores highest on this exam receives a certificate of merit and a copy of the CRC Handbook of Chemistry and Physics.
A certificate is presented each year to the outstanding graduating MS Chemistry student. The recipient is selected by the ULM Chemistry facult based on achievements in academics, research productivity, and performance as a teaching assistant. The recipient receives a certificate of merit from the American Institute of Chemists (AIC), affiliate membership in AIC, and a subscription for the magazine, The Chemists.
This award is presented each year to the outstanding graduating chemistry senior at ULM. Selection is made by the ULM Chemistry faculty based on academic performance. This award is presented each year to the outstanding student in analytical chemistry courses at ULM. Selection, based on academic performance, is made by ULM's Analytical Chemistry faculty members. The recipient is given a certificate of merit, affiliate membership in the American Chemical Society, and a subscription to the journal, Analytical Chemistry.
This award is presented each year by the Polymer Division of The American Chemical Society (ACS) to the outstanding student in organic chemistry courses at ULM. The recipient is chosen by ULM's Organic Chemistry faculty member. The winner receives a certificate of merit from ACS and a video tape entitled "The Age of Polymers".
A certificate of merit is presented each year to the student who renders distinguished service to the ULM Chemistry Department.
This scholarship is presented each year to a chemistry junior or senior who has demonstrated outstanding academic performance. The recipient receives a cash award of $500 which is taken from accrued interest on a fund established by the family of Frances Baldwin, a former ULM Chemistry faculty member. The recipient is chosen by the ULM Chemistry Faculty.
This award is presented each year in remembrance of Dr. Robert L. Holt, former Head of the ULM Chemistry Department. A cash award of $500 is presented to a chemistry major at ULM (sophomore, junior or senior) who has demonstrated outstanding academic performance. Selection by the ULM Chemistry faculty is partially based on financial need.

Student Affiliate
The ULM Chemistry Department sponsors a student
affiliate chapter of the American Chemical Society, the
ACS-SA. In order to join the affiliate group, students must major or minor in chemistry
and must join the National ACS. Forms are available from the faculty sponsor, Dr. Thomas
Junk. Club activities include trips to ACS professional meetings, social gatherings with
fellow science majors, and service projects for the University.
