Welcome to the Counseling Programs at the University of Louisiana at Monroe. Our programs are designed to train professional counselors at the graduate level in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, School Counseling, or both specializations.
The School of Health Profession’s (SHP) Counseling Programs are accredited by the Council for the Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP). SHP’s Counseling programs have been evaluated and meets or exceeds national standards. Effective through March 2020, CACREP has conferred accreditation on the following programs.

You can utilize your counseling degree in almost any field that deals with people. ULM counselors can become an Addictions Counselor, Mental Health Counselor, School Counselor, School Administrator, Human Resources Specialist, Rehabilitation Counselor, Play Therapist, Art Therapist, Career Counselor, Vocational Counselor, Life Coach, or Minister.
Plus, our program is transitioning to an online program, a degree leads you to LPC licensure.
Our School Counseling Program is accredited by CACREP and the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE).
The ULM Community Counseling Center is committed to provide a quality experience for those in need. The Center's goal is to provide clients the opportunity to learn, change, and develop through personal growth experiences.
