Paperwork tips for current graduate students:
A non-exhaustive list

Degree Plan: The degree plan worksheet is available from the Office of Graduate Studies (click here). Fill it out online and print it.

Major Professor Form: After a professor agrees to act as your major professor, the necessary major professor form from the Office of Graduate Studies must be completed (click here).

Committee Members: After faculty members agree to be on your thesis committee, they must be recommended in a memo from the department head addressed to the Office of Graduate Studies.

Degree Plan Changes: A form to change or substitute courses on the degree plan is available through the Office of Graduate Studies (click here). A degree plan must already be submitted before courses on it can be changed, and changes must be approved by the major professor.

Thesis: A rather large .pdf document from the Office of Graduate Studies details thesis requirements (click here). It was updated in October, 2007.

[Note: Not all students will opt for writing a thesis. There is a non-thesis option]
