Poverty Point. The archaeological site at Poverty Point State Historic Site is a magnificent earthen complex with five mounds, six concentric semi-elliptical ridges and a plaza that was built and occupied by Native Americans about 3500 years ago. I am happy to present current information about this unique landscape and the associated artifact collections of Poverty Point.
Prehistory of Louisiana. Archaeological research throughout Louisiana has revealed a long and interesting history of Native American occupation prior to the arrival of European explorers. I can provide an overview of the Native American culture history of northeast LA, from the earliest inhabitants to the latest prehistoric populations.
Archaeology. Our understanding of prehistoric culture history is based on archaeological research. I can provide a brief introduction to the method and theory of archaeological research -- what, how and why archaeologists do what they do.
