Ms. Amy Kincannon is the holder of the Glenwood Regional Medical Center Professorship in Nursing.
Kincannon is an assistant professor of nursing and works with senior level nursing students at ULM. She is primarily involved with teaching Advanced Adult Health Nursing.
In 1991, Kincannon graduated from Northeast Louisiana University with a bachelor of science in nursing degree. Following 12 years of work as a registered nurse in a critical care unit, she enrolled in a master of science in nursing program at the University of Phoenix and graduated in 2005.
Kincannon gained employment at the ULM School of Nursing in 2003 and holds professional memberships in Sigma Theta Tau International (Honor Society of Nurses), Infusion Nurses Society and Academy of Medical Surgical Nurses.
Fulfilling philanthropic roles as guest lecturer at events such as the Louisiana Society of Radiologic Technologists State Winter Seminar, to educate other healthcare workers regarding healthcare associated infections and how to manage clients with dementia, is something Kincannon deems as essential in her role at ULM.
Kincannon’s duties at ULM include serving as chair for the School of Nursing Assessment and Evaluation Committee and serving as a member on the School of Nursing Resource, Technology and Distance Learning Committee.
