DR. PRESTON JONES is the holder of the Capital One Professorship in Mathematics.
He obtained his Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering at San Francisco State University, Master of Science degree in Physics at San Diego State University, and Ph.D. in Physics at the University of Nevada.
He joined the faculty of the University of Louisiana at Monroe in 2007, teaches both upper division and lower division physics courses across the curriculum, and has supervised numerous student research projects.
Jones has published four peer reviewed papers since joining the faculty at ULM; one as soul author on the non-abelian diadic calculus and general relativity in the International Journal of Modern Physics D, two papers with collaborators at CSU Fresno in the American Journal of Physics, and one paper on Green function methods and nanoscopic structures in the International Journal of Quantum Chemistry.
He is a member of the American Physical Society and the Anacapa Society which is dedicated to supporting theoretical physics research at predominately undergraduate institutions.
