Do you accept students throughout the year?
No. Applications are accepted until March 1, and admitted students begin in the fall semester.
Is the program accredited?
Yes. The program has dual accreditation from the Commission on Accreditation for Marriage and Family Therapy Education (COAMFTE) and the Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP). Graduates are academically prepared to pursue licensure as both a LPC and a LMFT.
Will I be eligible for licensure upon graduation?
Academically, yes; clinically, no. Graduates must apply with the state licensing board to become a state-approved intern and must be approved to be supervised by a board-approved supervisor. This required internship process takes at least two years post-degree, and must be completed within seven years of having registered with the board. For more information, visit http://lpcboard.org.
Can I attend as a part-time student?
No. The program is a cohort model and cannot accept part-time students.
Are any of the courses offered online?
The program is predominately face-to-face. However, some courses may be offered online or in a hybrid format.
When will I be notified regarding an admissions decision?
If you have been selected for an on-campus interview, you will be notified by mid-March. If you are accepted to the program, you will receive notification in writing by the first week in April.
