Dr. Neil R. White

Assistant Professor of Sociology

An Assistant Professor of Sociology at ULM and a Research Fellow of the Social Science Research Lab, Dr. White's interests include Community, Economic Sustainability, Health, Social Theory, Social Psychology, Religion and Sports. His research experience includes management of administrative data and statistical and spatial analysis for projects involving workforce, economic and community development as well as health assessment related to the healthy people 2010 initiative.

Dr. White's work appears in Southern Rural Sociology, Mississippi Health Assessment, 2004, and as a co-author of chapter 3 in John Bartkowski's and Helen A. Regis's book Charitable Choices: Religion, Race, and Poverty in the Post-Welfare Era. New York University Press, 2002.

Most recently Dr. White co-authored a report entitled Mississippi Delta Economic and Labor Market Landscape and Prospects for the Workforce, Economic, and Community Development Research Unit which is a component of the Social Science Research Center within Mississippi State University.
