RSVP RSVP recruits volunteers age 55 and over for service opportunities in their communities that match their skills and availability. From community policing to immunizing children, from enhancing the capacity of non-profit organizations to improving and protecting the environment, RSVP volunteers put their unique talents to work to make a difference. RSVP is a National Organization that has been sponsored by the University of LA at Monroe for 35 years. In Ouachita and Union Parishes RSVP is a very diverse organization. Approximately 600 volunteers give almost 125,000 hours of volunteer work each year. Many of our volunteers work as Volunteers in Police Service or Community Emergency Response Team volunteers. These volunteers work with police, firemen, and other emergency officials to assure that our community is safe. Another area of emphasis is health care for the elderly. Volunteers are stationed at all area hospitals to help where needed. Volunteers also work at University of Louisiana in Monroe, Lifeshare Blood Center, American Red Cross, Susan G. Koeman Cancer Foundation, area nursing homes, etc. RSVP P.O.
