ULM Honors Curriculum
The Program is open to students in all majors. Students will take 16 hours of an Honors Core and then select one of two Honors options.
In order to complete the Honors Core, Honors students must take:
- Honors Freshman English (ENGL 1010)
- Honors Freshman Seminar (UNIV 1001 H)
- Honors Arts (ARTS 1010)
- Honors Social Science (HONR 3001)
- Honors English, select one
- ENGL 2007
- ENGL 2019
- Honors History, select one
- HIST 1010
- HIST 2009
- HIST 2019
Upon completion of the Honors Core, the student will have two choices:
Honors in the College - To complete Honors in the College the student must take:
- Honors Colloquium (HONR 1010)
- Honors Seminar (HONR 4010)
- Honors Speech (CMST 1010)
- Six (6) hours of the same Foreign Language
- Twelve (12) hours in the major using the Honors Option
Honors in the University - To complete Honors in the University the student must take:
- Honors Colloquium (HONR 1010)
- Honors Seminar (HONR 4010)
- Honors Speech (CMST 1010)
- Six (6) hours of the same Foreign Language
- Twelve (12) hours in the major using the Honors Option
- Honors Thesis (enrollment is HONR 4015 is expected while completing the thesis)
Honors students must achieve a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.5 by graduation (3.3 freshman year; 3.4 sophomore year; 3.5 junior year)
Completion of all curriculum requirements and a minimum grade point average will qualify a student to obtain a certificate and graduate from the Honors Program.
