The Department of Kinesiology is part of the College of Education and Human Development, which is fully accredited through the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE) and the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP)

The graduate clinical exercise physiology program is also accredited through the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP). 

The Kinesiology Department is proud of its specialty area accreditation through the National Association for Sports and Physical Education (NASPE) and by the Louisiana State Board of Education.

 

 

 

Students in the Exercise Science concentration are encouraged to obtain individual professional certification through the American College of Sports Medicine (ASCM).
	Students in the Health Promotion/Disease Prevention (formerly Community Health Education and Promotion) concentration are encouraged to obtain individual professional certification through the National Commission for Health Education Credentialing (NCHEC).

 

 

Through continued accreditation efforts by the faculty and staff, the Kinesiology Department is assuring the community that the University of Louisiana Monroe is producing highly qualified candidates.
