POSITION ANNOUNCEMENTS

Assistant Professor of Kinesiology

The Department of Kinesiology at the University of Louisiana at Monroe (UL Monroe) invites applications for two tenure track positions at the rank of Assistant Professor in a department offering masters and specialist degrees that emphasize exercise science, exercise science-pre PT, health promotion/disease prevention, fitness and sports, and health/physical education teacher certification.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Teach undergraduate/graduate courses; provide quality academic advising to students, supervise field experiences, engage in scholarship and other professional development; and provide service to the department, university, and community.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

Required Qualifications:

Earned doctorate in Kinesiology (ABD considered), interest in and evidence of scholarly productivity, and the ability to use computer technology to support teaching and scholarship.

 

Preferred Qualifications (Position #1):
For the first position we are looking for someone with coursework and/or experience in fitness, exercise science, lifetime sports, team sports, first aid, strength training, and/or group exercise. ACSM and/or NSCA certifications are highly desirable.

 

Preferred Qualifications (Position #2):
For the second position we are looking for someone with coursework and/or experience in health, health promotion, kinesiology or a related area. CHES certification is highly desirable.

 

SALARY
Salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience.

 

STARTING DATE
January, 2009
