The Louisiana Lyric Opera, resident professional company of the School of Visual and Performing Arts at the University of Louisiana at Monroe is currently casting its preview season:  “Little Shop of Horrors” Aug. 2-4 and “The Pirates of Penzance” Aug. 16-19. Rehearsals start July 23.  All Positions, except apprentices, both acting and technical are paid.  Resumes, head shots and portfolios are currently being accepted:

On campus auditions are Feb. 23-24; two contrasting songs from the music theatre repertoire and a dance call are required.  Call 318-342-3811 to set up an audition appointment.

Principal parts are cast with established and emerging professionals, both equity and non-equity, often with Broadway and touring credits.  Salaries vary with experience.

Resident Ensemble members are cast by audition and are typically young professionals, graduate students or outstanding upper class undergraduates and receive a weekly salary of $350.  Housing is not provided.

Interns are cast by audition and are typically freshman/sophomore undergraduates or avocational adult actors.  They receive a weekly salary of $200.  Housing is not provided.

Apprentices are cast by audition and are typically talented high school students or avocational adult actors.  Apprentices do not receive compensation.
