About Kinesiology...With four distinct concentrations at the undergraduate level (Exercise Science, Exercise Science/Pre-Physical Therapy, and Fitness and Sports Industry), the department is one of the oldest on the ULM campus. As the times have changed, so has the Kinesiology program - transitioning from a primarily service-oriented, activity-based program to a content, research-driven curriculum with opportunities for students to enter careers vitally needed to winning the fight against childhood obesity and Type II diabetes in children and adults, as well as returning individuals to fully-functional lifestyles in cardiac rehabilitation and physical therapy fields.

- Students are placed in internships at schools, hospitals, wellness facilities, physical therapy sites, and sport-related businesses
- Kinesiology faculty and students provide coaching to area youth teams, support to athletic training services at the high school and college levels, and teaching throughout the region as physical education instructors and pedagogy specialists.
