The ULM Mathematics Department is building a new chapter of Kappa Mu Epsilon, a prestigious national mathematics honors society. If you are a regularly enrolled student at ULM who has completed 3 semesters of course work and

  1. you rank in the top 35% of your class;
  2. you have completed 3 college courses in mathematics, including at least one semester of calculus;
  3. and you have attained a B average or better in all mathematics courses;

then you are eligible for membership in KME.

KME is a nationally recognized honors society and membership is viewed highly by employers, as well as professional and graduate schools. There is a one-time national membership fee of $20. This $20 is essentially returned to the new members in the following forms: membership certificates and cards, keypin jewelry, a two-year subscription to the society’s journal, delegate money to national conventions, etc. This fee is required by the national organization. There are no local dues for membership.

To be considered for membership in KME, provide a copy of your transcript to Dr. Serpil Saydam, AIRW 352.
