Susan Olson teaches voice, diction, and is assistant director of opera at the University of Louisiana at Monroe. Before joining the ULM faculty in 2005, Dr. Olson held teaching positions at Otterbein College, Ohio Dominican University, Western Michigan University and Kalamazoo College. An active performer, she has performed as soloist with the Westerville Symphony Orchestra, Zanesville Civic Orchestra and Chorus, Bel Canto Soloists and Veritas in Cantico. Recent stage performances include the Old Woman in Bernstein’s Candide, Mrs. Anderssen in Sondheim’s A Little Night Music, and Cecilia March in the Ohio premiere of Adamo’s Little Women. Dr. Olson has toured with many collegiate and professional choirs, performing across the U.S. and throughout Asia and Europe. She spent 2 years with the Robert Shaw Festival Singers, performing and recording in Souillac, France and at Carnegie Hall, New York City. Dr. Olson is an active member in the College Music Society and the National Association of Teachers of Singing.
