Dancer, teacher, and choreographer Robin Stephens has enjoyed a distinguished career in the American Musical Theater. Handpicked by the Broadway legends Gower Champion, Alan J. Lerner, and Charles Strouse, Ms. Stephens has performed as a featured dancer in the original companies of the Broadway Musicals 42nd Street and Dance a Little Closer. While on Broadway she has worked with such luminaries as Jerry Orbach, Tammy Grimes, Delores Gray, Leroy Reems, Len Carou, and George Rose. Ms. Stephens's professional associations with important regional theaters are Oklahoma City's Lyric Theater, Music Theater of Wichita, Dallas Summer Musicals, and Casa Manana of Fort Worth, TX. . Ms. Stephens has trained regionally with such luminaries as Miguel Terechov and Yvonne Chouteau of the Ballet Ruse de Monte Carlo, Ko Yukuhuiro of Martha Graham Company and Conrad Ludlow principal dancer with the New York City Ballet. While in New York she studied with Finis Young (ballet), Lynn Simonson (jazz), Randy Skinner (tap), and Lea Theodore (musical theater dance). Recently, Ms. Stephens has been on the faculty at Coastal Carolina University were she served as dance instructor and resident choreographer for their Musical Theater division. She is currently a new addition to the staff at the University of Louisiana, Monroe, where she will direct the dance department and serve as resident choreographer for the ULM's Opera and Musical Theater program. She holds a BFA from Oklahoma City University, a Masters Degree from Louisiana State University, Baton Rouge and is a registered yoga instructor.
