ULM spring choral concert Tuesday

The University of Louisiana at Monroe Concert Choir and Chamber Singers will present their annual spring concert at 7:30 p.m., Tuesday, March 17, at First United Methodist Church, located at 3900 Loop Rd. in Monroe.

This event is free and open to the public.

The concert, titled “Choose Something like a Star,” will be conducted by Dr. Deborah Chandler, director of choral activities at ULM.

Special guests include guitarist, Dr. Daniel Sumner, and accompanist Julian Jones.

The Concert Choir is ULM’s premiere choral ensemble. This choir performs a variety of literature both sacred and secular.

The Chamber Singers are a select group of 20-24 voices. The group performs accompanied and a cappella music of all styles and periods.

In addition to the seasonal concerts given during the academic year, these groups sing for, and serve as part of the collection of recruiting ensembles for the Department of Music.
