Published December 7, 2015

KEDM Public Radio, 90.3 FM, will present Musical Merriment, featuring live performances of seasonal favorites featuring young artists, Wednesday and Thursday Dec. 9th and 10th from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Students from area high schools and universities will perform at the KEDM studios throughout the day.

Dr. Deborah Chandler, associate professor of music and host of KEDM’s Vocal Vibes, along with Dr. Jason Rinehart, associate professor of music and host of KEDM’s Bandscape, will serve as hosts for the special broadcasts.

“Students have been working on selections full of merriment and cheer, and they're ready to perform on KEDM! There is sure to be something for everyone,” explains Chandler.

Miss Louisiana, April Nelson, will sing holiday classics including Pie Jesu and Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas. Miss ULM Sarah Torregrossa will perform a fun rendition of Santa Baby.

“You will not want to miss this fun-filled journey that will give you a glimpse of enchanting spirit of the season,” says Lila Strode, KEDM development director.

Young artists will perform solo, duet, trio and quartet collections of Christmas, Hannukah, and other holiday favorites.

KEDM is a public service of the University of Louisiana at Monroe, airing a schedule of NPR news, classical, jazz, and other entertainment from studios located in Stubbs Hall. The station relies on funding from listeners, local businesses and the Corporation for Public Broadcasting.
