Seven things you want to know about the Idaho game

Published October 7, 2016

The University of Louisiana Monroe’s football team is taking on the University of Idaho this Saturday, October 8 at 6 p.m. at Malone Stadium.

Here are 7 things you should know before heading to the game.

1. Pre-game Party

As an overture to the game-day festivities, the ULM Athletic Department has organized a concert featuring The Revivalists the night before the game.

The Revivalists, a rock-soul band that formed in New Orleans, were recently included in Rolling Stones’ “10 Bands You Need to Know” list. They have been featured across the nation through media and television shows such as The Today Show.

Bishop Gunn, a rock band from Natchez, Miss., will provide the opening act.

The doors open at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, October 7 at Fant-Ewing Coliseum.

Get your tickets fast HERE while they are still available.

2. It’s Parents’ Day

Students, invite your parents and show them the beauty of our campus, the uniqueness of our tailgating traditions, and the grove that other universities can only dream of having.

Parents, vouchers for free admission will be given to children 12 or younger. Give your children a chance to see some live football played in their hometown by their home team.

There will be a children’s area with large inflatables between Malone Stadium and the Activity Center.

3. Wear Pink

Boys, this applies to you too! Let’s honor breast cancer survivors and raise breast cancer awareness by wearing a pink shirt this Saturday.

ULM Athletic Department will also give away 1,000 pink sunglasses at the game, so have that in mind when procrastinating to get in.

4. Student section

Bring your ULM ID to get in for free. Remember, this only applies to the students’ section of the stadium, which is the east side of Malone Stadium.

5. Homecoming King

Only one will be privileged to take the title of the 2016 Homecoming King. His name will be announced at the game.

6. Not able to come?

Let’s say that you have an excuse big enough to miss this game. Well, you surely will miss a lot of fun by not coming to campus, but you will still be able to see the game, and here is how.

The game will be available online on ESPN3 as well as on the WatchESPN app.

You can also tune into the Warhawk Radio Network and listen to play-by-play man Frank Hoffmann, color commentator Scott McDonald and sideline reporter Nick White.

7. Show off Your ULM Pride

It’s as simple as that! TALONS OUT and TAKE FLIGHT! Let’s go Warhawks!
