ULM tailgate Chili Cookoff 2001

The Alumni Association at the University of Louisiana at Monroe is holding their annual Chili Cookoff on Nov. 10, 2001. The friendly competition will be held in "The Grove" right before ULM's last home football game against Troy State University at Malone Stadium.

The day starts at 11:00 a.m. with cooks checking in and setting up. There is a head cooks meeting at 12:00 noon, showmanship judging between 1:00-2:00 p.m., and judging at 4:00 p.m. The football game starts at 6:00 p.m.

Everyone is invited to participate in the Cookoff. You or your business can enter in one of five divisions: the campus division (includes ULM faculty, staff, and students); the professional division (includes banks and other businesses); the restaurant division; the media division (includes newspaper, TV, and radio); and an open division for anyone not in another category. First place winners in all divisions will receive plaques. Second and third place winners in each division will receive certificates.

There is an entry fee of $20 per team with a maximum of 6 persons per team. Chili must be cooked from scratch on site. Entry fee includes a head cook apron and 12 pack of beer. Competitors must supply their own equipment (table, chairs, burners, etc.). Applications for the Cookoff can be picked up at the Anna Gray Noe Alumni Center. Proceeds benefit the ULM 31 Ambassadors.
