Brandon Verrett, a senior theory and composition major at ULM, will conduct his own composition entitled 1849. The final guest conductor of the evening will be Mark Walker, an alumnus of ULM and local band director. Walker will conduct a lovely lyrical piece entitled Dylansong, composed by Robert Foster.

Lincolnshire Posy is based on British folk songs Grainger collected in Lincolnshire, England, in 1905-06. Grainger attempted to recreate the authentic flavor of the folk songs through strict observance of varying beat lengths, parallelism, and other peculiarities of performance. The four movements presented in this performance are subtitled Lisbon Bay, Horkstow Grange, The Brisk Young Sailor, and The Lost Lady Found.
