ULM'S Flying Tomahawks will Host Intercollegiate Safety Convention

The Flying Tomahawks, ULM's competition flight team, is hosting the Region IV National Intercollegiate Flying Association's (NIFA) Annual SAFECON (safety convention) on October 22-25. An awards banquet will end the event on Saturday.

This is the first time in over 10 years that ULM has hosted the competition. Universities in Louisiana, Mississippi, Arkansas, and Texas compete every year and the top teams are invited to attend the National Competition. There will be 5-6 teams consisting of approximately 150 people in attendance.

The flying events will be held at the Monroe Regional Airport and some of the ground events will be held on campus in the Airway Science Building. For more information call Paul Karlowitz at 342-1780.
