ULM School of Visual and Performing Arts Presents "Dedications"

The ULM School of Visual and Performing Arts and Department of Choral Activities is pleased to announce "Dedications" - a Spring Choral Concert on Monday, March 15 and Tuesday, March 16 at 7:30 p.m. in the Biedenharn Recital Hall. The concert will feature the ULM Concert Choir and Chamber Singers under the direction of Dr. Johnny Ray Jones. Highlights include the debut of a piece composed by retired School of Music Chair Dr. Roger Jones entitled "The Witnesses" and specifically dedicated to Johnny Ray Jones and the ULM Concert Choir. This piece is based on a text by Longfellow and tells the haunting story of a nineteenth century slave ship lost at sea, leaving the souls of the slaves bearing witness to man's inhumanity to man. Other highlights include traditional choral favorites and contemporary selections by John Rutter and Moses Hogan. The ULM Chamber Singers will also perform a variety of lighter literature including contemporary ballads and vocal jazz selections.

Admission is free; please call for reservations at 318-342-3811. Specify which of the two evening performances you prefer to attend.
