Weems Named Assistant Dean for Student Life and Leadership

Vice President of Student Affairs at the University of Louisiana at Monroe, Dr. Wayne Brumfield, is pleased to announce the appointment of Amy Weems as the assistant dean for Student Life and Leadership. Weems has served as interim assistant dean for Student Life and Leadership during the past year.

“Amy is an outstanding addition to the Division of Student Affairs, and we look forward to her continued positive leadership and her ability to affect positive relationships with students,” said Brumfield.

As assistant dean for Student Life and Leadership, Weems will continue to oversee the coordinator of Commuter and Non-traditional Student Affairs, the coordinator of Spirit Groups, the assistant coordinator of Spirit Groups, the coordinator of Greek Life, the coordinator of Student Activities and the Campus Activities Board.

“I’m very pleased to be a part of the Student Affairs team,” said Weems. “I feel that Student Life and Leadership has so much potential, and I look forward to our continued growth,” she added.

Weems previously served as the PREP coordinator for ULM’s Office of Recruitment and Admissions.

Weems is a 1997 summa cum laude graduate of ULM with a bachelor of science degree in Family and Consumer Sciences Education. She earned her masters degree in the same field from Louisiana Tech in 1999. She is an active member of several professional organizations including Delta Kappa Gamma, Omicron Delta Kappa and the American Association of Family and Consumer Sciences.
