Hill and Harris’ chapter on service-eLearning published in professional text

ULM English professors Dr. Sandra Hill and Dr. Christopher S. Harris have had a chapter published in a professional text titled “Service-eLearning: Educating for Citizenship.”

Their chapter, "Service-eLearning and Professional Writing," appears in the educational book, edited by Amber Dailey-Hernbert, Emily Donnelli-Sallee, and Laurie N. DiPadova-Stocks, and published by Publisher Information Age Publishing, 2008.

The book editors described their chapter: "Sandra Hill and Chris Harris assert service-eLearning's value as a pedagogy for teaching professional writing skills. Their experiences suggest that service-eLearning not only helps develop students' awareness of the ways that writing engages democracy, but also prepares students for the global eWorkplace.

“Christopher Blackwell, in writing about how service-eLearning approaches can complement Community Based Nursing Education, echoes Hill and Harris' [sic] findings about the value of service-eLearning to connect professional work and community activism."

College faculty interested in learning how to implement service-learning courses in a digital environment will particularly benefit from the book.
