ULM Diversity Committee highlights Black History Month in workshop

ULM’s Diversity Committee held a Highlighting Black History Month workshop Thursday, Feb. 21 in the Administration Building, room 2-105 (the Harvard Room).

The workshop was presented in celebration of Black History Month. An overview of the origins and purpose of Black History Month were provided, highlighting the impact that the African-American community has had on the history and development of United States culture.

Presenters from a variety of academic disciplines discussed the influence that African-American scholars and professionals have had in their own fields of study. Oral and video presentations illustrated that Black History Month is a cause for celebration among all persons that appreciate the diverse perspectives and orientations that exist within the United States.
