Spring Fever Musicfest 2008 to highlight Tracy Lawrence and other popular music artists April 17

As part of Spring Fever Musicfest 2008, various artists will perform in a free concert at ULM Thursday, April 17, beginning at 1 p.m. in the University of Louisiana at Monroe’s Bayou Park.

Gareth Asher, a “modern Motown” artist, will kick off the afternoon at 1 p.m., sharing his love of the ‘60s and ‘70s with a contemporary twist.

Following Asher will be Travis Matte and the Kingpins, a zydeco band from South Louisiana, who will play at 2:30 p.m.

The Benjy Davis Project is a Louisiana band formed out of Baton Rouge. Their music is alternative rock and will begin at 4 p.m.

Stoney LaRue, a country singer from southeastern Oklahoma, will play at 5:30 p.m.

Award-winning country music star Tracy Lawrence will be the highlight of the afternoon. Lawrence is scheduled to play at 7 p.m.

The concert, sponsored by Campus Activities Board, is free to all, including the general public.
