ULM's Allen promoted to president of statewide organization

Andy Allen, assistant professor and clinical coordinator in the ULM Department of Radiologic Technology, was recently promoted to president for the Louisiana Society of Radiologic Technologists. As LSRT President, Allen will also serve as a Louisiana delegate for the American Society of Radiologic Technology and participate at the 2011 annual governance meeting in Albuquerque, N.M.

Allen has been a member of the LSRT since 2002. In that time, he has presented multiple lectures at state meetings, served as chair and vice chair for the Louisiana Educators in Radiologic Sciences Council, as well as second and first vice president of the LSRT.

The LSRT functions to promote the advancement of radiation and imaging specialty professions, maintain high standards of education, enhance the quality of patient care, and further the welfare and socioeconomics of Radiologic Technologists in the state of Louisiana. The LSRT is an affiliate society of the ASRT, which is supported by more than 130,000 members nationwide.
