Spring 2011 All Majors Career Fair set for Feb. 16

All ULM junior and senior students, as well as ULM alumni, are invited to attend the University of Louisiana at Monroe Spring 2011 All Majors Career Fair, set for Feb. 16 in the second-floor ballrooms of the Student Union Building.

The event will run from 10 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. and is an opportunity to meet local and regional employers including CenturyLink, Texas Department of Criminal Justice, State Farm Insurance, Vantage Health Plan, St. Francis Medical Center and Fiserv.

Professional dress is required.

Students may register online at the Career Connections Web site. The first 50 students to register online will receive a 1GB flash drive and be eligible to enter a drawing for a 32GB Apple iPad.

Workshops and events leading up to the career fair are:

• "How to Work a Career Fair" will be presented by local employers from 9 – 10:45 a.m. Feb. 9 in the ULM Library, Room 302. The workshop includes networking, talking with employers, dressing for success and landing a job.

• "Lunch with Professionals/Speed Interviewing" workshop is 12:30 – 2:15 p.m. Feb. 9 in the ULM Library, Room 302. It includes how to interact with potential employers and how to have an impressive interview. Raising Canes will provide lunch.
