ULM announces two new mobile app features

University of Louisiana at Monroe students needing to know tuition cost or the location of their next class can instantly access that information via ULM's new mobile app features.

Students can find the new tuition estimator by pressing the Discover ULM icon, then the “Tuition Estimator” link.

This will allow current and future students to input the number of hours they plan to take and receive an estimate of ULM tuition and fees.

“It's a great tool to let both students and parents plan for their budget over the next school year,” said Richard Peacock, ULM web application programmer and one of the mobile app developers.

By pressing the “Map it” button, current students can now see their courses pin-pointed on an interactive map of campus buildings to see exactly where they need to go each day to get to class.

“We expect this will be a huge help to new students unfamiliar with our campus,” continued Peacock.

“We are not aware of any other apps which can map student's schedules in this way. From what we've seen, this is another first for ULM.”

ULM's mobile app, developed in 2011, provides a portable method for students to access much of the same information they currently access from their desktop or laptop computers.

The mobile app is available for iPhone, Android, and most other web-capable smart phones at ulm.edu/app
