ULM aviation student receives scholarship

University of Louisiana at Monroe aviation major Alair Tudor of Barbados has received a $5,000 scholarship from the International Society of Transport Aircraft Trading Foundation.

"The Chicago based organization only awarded 10 domestic scholarships this year," said David King, faculty chair and associate professor of aviation. "A scholarship of this size is rarely seen in aviation."

For over 25 years, ISTAT has fostered educational opportunities in commercial aviation while providing a forum for those involved in the aviation and supporting industries.

ISTAT currently represents more than 2200 members worldwide who are involved in operating, manufacturing, maintaining, selling, purchasing, financing, leasing, appraising, insuring, or other activities related to the commercial aviation sector.

"The fact that we have a national and internationally accredited program is a key factor in the selection process," King continued.

"Most importantly, Alair is a very talented student that met their criteria, and that is something to be proud of."
