A minimum of two hours of faculty approved community service required each academic semester. Community service is required to provide students with an opportunity to see the needs of the community and to develop the idea that helping others is the first step toward helping ourselves. The community is made up of a variety of individuals, each in need of service and health teaching.

Successful completion of Semester I (Nursing 2004, 2005, 2007) gives students eligibility to receive a certificate as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA). This certification is required to work as a CNA in any health care agency. If you are interested in this certificate, please contact the nursing office.

Please review the School of Nursing Student Handbook each semester for policies on confidentiality (HIPAA), class absences, and grievance procedures.
