Why did you choose the pharmacy school at ULM?

ULM is one of the best schools in this state, and it was close to home. I felt welcomed on the interview and was immediately drawn to the staff at the School of Pharmacy.

Why did you choose pharmacy for your profession?

I wanted to be in the health field and have patient interaction. I didn't want to spend 12 years in school to become a medical doctor, and I knew pharmacy would be a great way to make a living and be able to apply clinical knowledge to help patients.

What opportunities have you had by attending ULM that you may not have experienced elsewhere?

I've had the experience of connecting to my hometown community through different groups and organizations. The ULM School of Pharmacy is also small enough to allow me to develop close relationships with faculty and staff and I feel these will continue after graduation as we become colleagues.

Have you learned anything so far that has influenced your choice of potential future jobs?

Yes! I would love to be a clinical pharmacist and teach at the pharmacy school. Our clinical faculty have had the most impact on my knowledge to date and I would love to pass that on to the next generation and impact someone’s life like they have mine.

What advice would you give to a student considering attending the ULM School of Pharmacy?

Come take a tour and talk to other students! Don't just talk to faculty, find a student and make a connection to see if it's the right fit for you.
