Dr. Stephen Richters

Stephen RichtersDr. Richters was named Executive Vice President on September 9, 2011.

Prior to that, he was vice president for academic affairs, a position he held since 2002. His tenure with the university began in 1994 with a position as head of the mathematics department.

Before his appointment to vice president for academic affairs, he was department head of the expanded mathematics and physics department at ULM.

Richters' extensive career has revolved around the field of mathematics – he has served as an instructor or professor of this subject at Wake Forest University, Armstrong Atlantic University and Arkansas State University. Before his arrival at ULM, he was an associate professor and the chairman of St. Bonaventure University's mathematics department.

He received an associate's degree from Northwestern Connecticut Community College, a bachelor's degree from Vassar College, and a master's degree and Ph.D. from Brown University.

He has seen his work published in professional journals and textbooks and secured grant funding for the university.

Richters holds professional memberships in the American Mathematical Society, the Mathematical Association of America and the mathematics honor society Kappa Mu Epsilon.
